Body | Mass | Absolution
This is an interactive performance exploring popular culture’s influence on the ritual of confession in public spaces and the manifestation of emotional labor often performed by women. Body|Mass|Absolution brings the act of confession out of digital and back into the tangible by offering the participant edible paper and ink to write their confession. The performer eats the paper and marks the participant as absolved. This performance can be stationary with props to create the illusion of a sacred space or roving with the performer moving throughout the space.
